Slovakia born, New Jersey based, singer-songwriter Mir Stavola performs in South Jersey and Philadelphia area at singer-songwriters showcases, coffee shops, summer concerts and benefit events, solo or as a member of the Genies and Gypsonica. Mir is a former member of the folk band Timid in her home town, Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia, where she recorded her first album No Destination (2003) with guitarist Richard Guzak, who also produced this CD at his recording studio.
While No Destination is mostly country rock and folk, her new cd Gypsy Heaven (2009) contains traditional Eastern European Gypsy songs, Slovak mountain music and her own original songs in her new style classified as world music. Gypsy Heaven is a product of creative work of Mir and David St. James who produced the record. Mir supports natural lifestyle and enjoys learning about the native cultures through their music.
